WHY DO I BELIEVE FASTING WILL WORK.

Ironically fasting sort of kicked this entire thing off for me.  I believe it was fasting that lead to my pain which ended in the MGUS diagnosis.  But the pain was entirely unrelated.

Fasting offers several benefits for cancer. In particular blood cancer.

1. there is on record a case study of a woman with Lymphoma who fasted for 28 days and had her cancer remarkably reduce. And it has stayed that way. Water-only fasting and an exclusively plant foods diet in the management of stage IIIa, low-grade follicular lymphoma She did eat a plant food diet but at this point it is not clear if plant food would be responsible alone.

2. Fasting is likely to make you eat less food generally. If you are eating a "toxic load" fasting will dramatically reduce the amount of pesticides or otherwise that you ingest. Calorie Restriction already has several studies that show that reduced calories improves health.  But Calorie Restriction does not offer some of the benefits that fasting does.

3. Fasting generally reduces some of the key biomarkers that support and encourage cancer. These are: insulin, IGF-1 and MTor. All of which are effected by what, when, and how much you eat.

4. Fasting can allow for something called autophagy. Though IMHO I am slightly suspicious of some of the claims made. Autophagy is basically your body turning to "eat" its own junk.  Instead of junk hanging around in your body for years messing up the works, autophagy will recycle that junk. It has long been a theory of mine that insulin resistance is caused by junk buildup in your body blocking the insulin receptors on your cells.  I would like to know if fasting could affect the side effects of MGUS -- such as build up of antibody and light chains.  The important point is that this doesn't happen until you haven't eaten in a while. 48-72 hours. So most modern people have never had this happen.

5. Fasting releases Ketosis. And not just a little. You have a much stronger Ketosis reaction than say, if you were on the Keto diet. Ketosis itself is protective. In many different ways unrelated to cancer ( I suspect we don't know about them yet) but Ketosis has been proven helpful against radiation in cancer treatment... think about what that means for every day life? Already several cancers have shown a positive reaction to Ketosis. Including for our purposes (CLL- Chronic Leukemia). Dr. Annette Bozworth's mom survived for years on a Keto diet after drugs were failing.  There have been amazing results in brain cancer as well.

6. Fasting reduces sugar. While of course, the body still makes sugar even if you deprive it of sugar, the standard American diet itself is an overdose of sugar.  Right now, you might think you aren't getting a lot of sugar, but you are. Why does this matter? Cancer runs off "fermentation" -- which means cancer cells need mass amounts of sugar to proceed this way.  Cut the sugar and make things difficult for the cancer.

7. Fasting is not a new fad. Ever hear the saying starve a fever and feed a cold. For thousands of years fasting was well accepted as a way to heal the body. Have you ever seen an animal that is sick? It doesn't eat. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) wrote,“ The best medicine is rest and fasting”. And Mark Twain (1835- 1910) the famous American Philosopher was also a keen advocate along with many other historical figures, suggesting that a little starvation could do more to cure men than the best medicines and best doctors.

8. This is my theory but, most MGUS is diagnosed at mid age. The same time as humans face a radical body change. Menopause / andropause.  Both states are marked by a requirement for less food. This makes sense. Women will not be giving birth, men though still capable.. likely will not be out hunting for food. Your body is telling you -- hey, stop eating.  But we don't listen. Can it be any great surprise that most serious illness pops up at mid age?

9. Fasting reduces Chronic Inflammation: more and more it is appearing that chronic inflammation is caused by food. Some suspect the food itself (such as veggies or fruits) cause it, some suspect it is a reaction to "leaky gut" but if you don't eat for long periods... your inflammation is going to be cut down.

Finally, at this point, we simply don't know all the benefits. Research has just really started.  So far, almost every study comes back noting great benefits. I haven't even listed them all here. And though I tend to be a suspicious character, there really is no financial reason for the studies to come back positive. Food manufacturers and the pharmacy will not be able to profit off fasting.

WHAT WORKS?

One year on I am not sure, but I will tell you what I noticed.

Last year, in the summer...I had the most amazing results. I started "Keto" and spent about 16 weeks eating, not only Keto, but more red meat. At the time I was really interested in Carnivore. Though, I know I don't love red meat that much.  At this time I also did fasting - 18:6.

And in my first post diagnosis labs, I had strong results.

My spike went down from .3 and .2 (I am biclonal) to .2 and .1.  My doctor didn't bother to run any other test (jerk) and I was so hopeful that this would go away.

My CBC was also very strong.  Every measure of my cells were strong and perfectly normal. My WBCs which have been low came back up to 6.0 (normal for me) and my red blood cells were perfection.  In fact almost every blood test that I had was looking very good. B-12 was normal and on the high side. Ferritin was perfection. My iron was perfectly normal.  And I got my own blood tests to continue to monitor on a monthly basis. Things were looking good.

For the most part, however, that stopped when the fall came along. I ended up getting a colonoscopy and frankly I think it hurt me. I was forced to eat a lot of carb heavy foods (as they were required for the colonoscopy) and I think I lost a lot water. I pretty much stopped with the meat and I noticed some poor results on blood tests. Such as my GGT result being high.

In addition, as we moved into the fall my diet slipped from fasting / keto back to a "normal diet". And I was dealing with a poor reaction to the cold.  Finally in October I took a risk and donated blood. Unfortunately, I think hat did hurt me.

Come November things were not so rosy. First due to the incompetence of my doctors I got lab tests that I wasn't expecting. So yes, it was annoying to see labs result that I had not been aware of.  My spike was back up to .3 and .2 (where it was when I was diagnosed) In addition my IGM immunoglobulin was at 291. Nearly abnormal. Finally I had not had my light chains tested since diagnosis. So that came back with an abnormal ratio. It wasn't a horrible abnormal ratio but I was not at all happy.

What happened?  Well, not sure, it could have been the blood donation (when I got these lab tests I was only 6 weeks out from donation and I was told that I should not be back to normal until 8 weeks out). And also for it to change so much in four months seems concerning. I also have a crazy theory that the cold weather can be a contributing factor.  Perhaps from the idea I just don't get sun or mentally I am not joyful... not sure.. but it does seem like my results are worse in the winter.

Did the Keto / fasting and red meat help? I think so.  There is a doctor with MM who is doing carnivore diet and he praises it to high heaven. If red meat helps your immune system stay strong and also helps with ketosis... well.. maybe that is a key factor.

TUMERIC AND STRUCTURED WATER

Well, will you look here.... Tumeric is one of the only natural substances that has peer review studies showing that it does have an effect on blood cancer.  One of the tricky parts is that it is notoriously difficult to absorb.  Over the years we have gotten better at it, learning that it needs fat and pepper to absorb.

And sure as can be as I looked into structured water I discovered that turmeric helps increase the absorption of Structured Water. Effect of Health-Promoting Agents on Exclusion-Zone Size

And of course, what reduces it... toxins. Round up.

All agents known to enhance biological function resulted in EZ expansion. On the other hand, the weed killer, glyphosate, considerably diminished EZ size.

We hypothesize that EZ buildup may be a mechanistic feature underlying many health-promoting agents, while agents that impair health may act by diminishing the amount of EZ water.
It appears, then, that all health-promoting substances tested increase the amount of EZ water in concentration ranges reasonably in accord with those anticipated in the body, whereas the health-impairing agent does the opposite.

Finally, why should an increase of EZ water promote health?

Health rests on cell function, which in turn results largely from protein folding. Depending on cell type, the folding of proteins mediates numerous functions: contraction in muscle cells, secretion in secretory cells, information transmission in nerve cells, and so on. We ordinarily consider proteins in isolation, but in fact, proteins are surrounded by interfacial (EZ) water.

This is so amazing to me. This study shows that if you do 3 or 4 things that are healthy for you it will help to increase structured water in the body and, that structured water will help with your health.

STRUCTURED WATER AND TOXIC AREAS.

Whenever I am looking for a theory with regard to cancer, it has to have one thing it has to be something that is really missing in modern society, with most people.  This was the case with Vitamin D. Early on, I realized Vitamin D was something that most people didn't get. It was a major missing nutrient that (when missing) was shown to cause disease. Also, it was something that humanity wasn't aware we were missing until recently. The Vitamin D blood test was only created in the 1990s.

I see that same fact pattern here with regard to structured water.

To find out that there is a substance that we would get if we were living out in nature that we are not getting now because were are not living out in nature... and that this substance is something that allows the body to have better hydration than non structured water... and it all starts to make sense.

Then add into it that as you age, you get dehydrated naturally - more easily.

Then add into it that structured water helps circulation thus bringing oxygen to every area of the body.

Then add in that as you age, you probably don't go out in the sun like you used to as a child.

Then look at the statistics... every state that gets a lot of sun.. always has lower cancer incidence rates.

Then look at the statistics about people who eat whole, non-processed foods. They always do better. Is this because of the water contained within them... veggies and meat?

WHAT IS CANCER?

For most of my life I thought of cancer as a dangerous malfunction of the cells. More and more science is starting to doubt that. Cancer it seems is not just the cells that malfunction, but, the entire area around it. Then there are studies that say that metastasis starts early in the cancer process.... cells are sent out to other areas in the body and lie dormant. They only activate once they get a signal from the original site.

Then there are the experiments on the ECM. The extracellular matrix (sometimes referred to as the microbiome) This is the "gel" area around each cell that basically holds it in place. Or tells it what kind of cell it is supposed to be. Scientists have shown that when this breaks down, the cells start to slip outside it and travel. They also lose their differentiation (so they forget what kind of cell they are supposed to be and de-evolve to single celled proliferating organisms). But then, when the ECM is fixed.. everything goes back to normal.

So cancer it seems is a survival mechanism. Something goes wrong in the original area... causing the area to determine that it is too toxic to survive without moving.

They have already shown that proliferation (the warburg effect) is something that happens with normal cells, immune system cells, typically involving some threat. It would make sense that is the case here.

Then I heard it, Dr. Michael Eades was talking and he said that originally humans had their beta cells inside the small intestine.. but it was too toxic and the cells moved outside the small intestine and moved to where the pancreas is (and formed the pancreas) and that just hit me like a ton of bricks.

Cancer has to be a survival mechanism when the original site becomes too toxic. If we never treated cancer sure millions would die while the cells were trying to figure out how to move, but eventually the cells would move to an area they could survive at. That is what metastasis is.... it is a way to find out and move to the optimal area in the body.  It seems like that is why the cells are sent out early and lie dormant. The original area is trying to fix the problem / do what it can to adapt. But when the cells become aware they are not going to, they send the message to the "survivors" to take their last stab at it, they only problem, it usually kills the patient.  But if we let this process go on, might someday, someone survive?  With cells moved to an area that would be ok? Is this why sometimes people with very dire prognosis's end up ok?

Of course, we can't just let people die but it seems to me that the focus has to be in finding out why are bodies are having toxic spots.. and avoiding that.

STRUCTURED WATER

A real scientist has been looking into this thing called "structured water" or Ez water. Not for health, but for his own purposes.  In fact years ago some scientists proposed that this existed.  Currently we are aware of three phases of water. 1. Ice, 2. Liquid, 3. Vapor.  But this proposes there is a forth. Between Ice and Liquid there is a gell like substance called "structured or ez" water.

This is liquid water that is has a greater amount of energy or protons than "liquid water".  It is called structured water because it has a honeycomb look to it.  This water is found in nature.... but we are no longer IN nature.

It is found in streams, mineral water, in fresh fruits and vegetables (and I theorize possibly meat). What destroys it? Processing. That is right. Just like you have processed food, you have processed water.

But wait, nature was smart enough to figure out maybe we might not be able to get the most fresh water all the time so it found a way to take processed water and make it structured. LIGHT. UV light or Infrared light.  Exposing yourself to the sun or other light will cause non structured water to turn into structured water.

So if you want to be full of this structured water... what would you need to do?

  1. Get a lot of sunlight.
  2. Get a lot of light.
  3. get a lot of fresh food
  4. get a lot of fresh water
  5. Grounding - walking on the earth with bare feet.
Are you seeing now why we are not healthy?

Here is the Ted Talk

AMAZING INFORMATION

More and more, as I look into what causes cancer I just continue to come back to one thing: Water and Dehydration.

When we look at the experiments with the Extracellular Matrix, it seems apparent that having a "hard" or stiff ECM, allows the cell inside it to start to break down.  It is the ECM that holds the cell in place and keeps it from proliferating.  In fact, the ECM is only made of a few things... water and collagen being part of it.

Then, there are those that say the same with regard to the cytoplam of the cells. That is is the inner layer of the cell that causes it to turn rogue.

Lack of water does make some sense in that:

  1. As we age, we lose the ability to concentrate our urine as well, causing more dehydration without us having a clue. And cancer does seem to occur more often with age.
  2. Water is, H2O, so it has oxygen. It has been suggested for a while that cancer begins due to "hypoxia" at the tissue level. So if we are not getting sufficient water, then we may not be getting sufficient oxygen at some tissues.
  3. Water assists in circulation which of course, can assist in avoiding hypoxia.
But still it doesn't totally make sense. More than ever we are hyper aware of our water intake and we drink plenty of water. Go to "You tube" and you will see people drinking a gallon of water a day. IMHO that is way too much. My urine gets clear at about 4 cups of water. No, no, something is wrong with this equation. It is as if the water quality we are getting is not doing its job. Like we are drinking but still dehydrated.

And then I found it... the water we are currently drinking is not proper water. There is a kind of water out there what will hydrate you better, is better for your cells, and will increase circulation. And this isn't bull this is actually science.

STRUCTURED water.

I am finally done with Keto.

Since the start of the pandemic I have been heavily invested in Keto and fasting. What captured my interest was the book, "Anyway you c...
